DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT

Protecting your personal data is a major consideration for us. Accordingly, any processing of your data is carried out exclusively on the premises of the statutory requirements (General Data Protection Regulation GDPR) and solely subject to your consent, to comply with contractual obligations. This data secrecy statement within the scope of our website informs you of the key aspects of our data processing policy.

Use of our website

Personal data disclosed by you when you visit our website are stored solely to respond to your enquiries and/or handle your order (including subsequent warranty cases, if any, for our services, technical administration and own marketing purposes) and with due regard to the statutory data secrecy provisions.

Data transfer to third parties

No data are transferred to any third party except as is absolutely necessary for order handling, including but not limited to third party companies/forwarders/carriers instructed by us, as well as based on statutory requirements, such as our tax consultant in order to comply with our tax obligations.

Data may furthermore be transferred to companies of the Forster Group within the European Union for the sole purpose of handling your enquiry.

In order to protect your information already during transfer we use encryption methods of the latest state of the art (including SSL encryption), thereby ensuring maximum security.

Cookies

Our website uses so-called “cookies”, to help you use the website and to make our offer more user-friendly. They are small text files that are stored on your terminal for the duration of your visit to our website and that, depending on the setting of your browser, are deleted once you terminate the browser. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. Most browsers have settings that automatically accept cookies. Nevertheless you can deactivate the installation of cookies or set the browser so that it will inform you when a cookie is about to be sent. If cookies are deactivated this may impair the functionality of our website. Please note that if you deactivate the cookie function you are unable to order online.

Some cookies remain on your terminal until you delete them. They allow us to recognise your browser when you next visit our website.

Web analysis

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysing service operated by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, i.e. text files stored on your computer that allow analysing the use of the website. Such information on your use of this website as generated by the cookie (including your IP address) is transferred to and stored on a Google server in the US. Your IP address is recorded but immediately abbreviated and pseudonymised, so that only a very general localisation is possible. Google will use such information to analyse your use of the website, prepare reports on website traffic for the website operators and furnish other services in connection with website and internet use. Google will furthermore pass on such information to third parties if so prescribed by law or to the extent a third party processes them on behalf of Google. Google will not link your IP address to other data of Google Inc.

Google Data Studio

We use Google Data Studio, an analytical service operated by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Data Studio uses data from Google Analytics and other data sources (Google Adwords), provided that we link them. The information thus generated, e.g. on your use of this website, is sent to and stored with a Google server in the US. Your IP address is recorded but promptly abbreviated and pseudonymised. The object of Google Data Studio is to analyse the flow of visitors to our website. It creates online reports that show the activities on our internet pages. Google Data Studio is used in the form of providing a graphic representation of data already collected.

For further information on Google’s data privacy policy see https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

YouTube plug-in

For the inclusion of videos, this website uses, i.a., a plug-in by Google-operated YouTube. When users visit a site provided with a YouTube plug-in, they are connected to the YouTuber servers as soon as a video is played. This informs the YouTube server which of the Forster internet sites has been visited. When you are logged into your YouTube account, this allows YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to the personal user profile.

Revoking your consent:

You can prevent this by logging out your YouTube account and other user accounts run by YouTube LLC or Google Inc. For more information on the handling of user data see YouTube’s privacy policy https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=engl=en.

How long will your data remain on file?

Your data are processed on the basis of Article 6 (1) a (consent) and/or f (legitimate interests) of the GDPR.

We process your personal data to the necessary extent for the full duration of our business relationship (from contacting to handling to performance of a contract) and, moreover, in line with the statutory safekeeping and documentation obligations.

Personal data thus processed are used for statistical purposes as well as for operating, safeguarding and optimising our website.

To the extent that no express duration for safekeeping is specified on collection (e.g. within the scope of a declaration of consent), your personal data are erased (or anonymised) once they are no longer necessary to fulfil the purpose of saving them and no statutory storage obligations (such as preservation obligations under commercial and tax laws) exist.

Liability/links to other websites

This website was set up using due care and diligence. Nevertheless we are not liable for any defects or for the accuracy of the information contained in it. Any liability for any loss or damage caused directly or indirectly from the use of this website shall be excluded. If this website makes reference to internet sites operated by a third party, Forster shall not be liable for their content which shall be solely the responsibility of their respective providers.

Your rights

Generally, you are entitled to the rights of information, rectification, erasure, limitation, portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that our processing of your data is an infringement of data protection laws or that your data secrecy claims are otherwise injured you may file a claim with the supervisory authority.
